Many people associate KVPAC with providing after school classes and summer camps and few realize the majority of our scope of service is in providing community outreach programs to children, teens and adults. Join KVPAC and serve our community through the arts by purchasing a ticket or a whole table to support these worthwhile programs. Tickets are $50/ individual and $500/ table of 8. Katy's First Christian Church invites all animal lovers to their Blessing of the Animals service.A group service will be followed by individual blessings for each animal.Owners who are not comfortable bringing their pets to the service can bring photographs of them instead.All pets must be on a leash or in a cage.Items will be accepted for donation to Special Pals Animal Shelter.Items specifically requested by Special Pals are: paper towels, bleach, kitchen trash bags, kitty litter, and pet treats.For more information, go to the church's website at fcckaty.com or call the office at 281-492-2693.

The public is invited to grab their little goblins and head to LaCenterra’s Trick-or-Treat down Main Street this Halloween. A safe alternative to trick-or-treating door-to-door, the free event is open to kids 12 and under accompanied by a parent (or guardian). Who’s treating? Parents should look for participation pumpkins denoting retailers offering tasty treats. The first 200 kids will receive treat bags courtesy of LaCenterra retailers. Bags will be available for pick-up in Heritage Square (central courtyard) beginning at 5:30 p.m. This year’s event includes a pirate-themed family funhouse presented by the Cinco Ranch Ladies Club. Admission is free, however, donations are welcomed as proceeds benefit Carrie’s Heart, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving the education, community involvement and overall quality of life of children with disabilities worldwide. For information on Carrie’s Heart, visit carriesheart.org.
